O is for Opening/One Hundred Days

My class had a busy week. The students had a sub on Wednesday while I was in Progress Reviews, so we had to play catch up on Thursday. We also had to squeeze in some groundhog fun, too.

On top of that I had two very important things to open.
It's hard to see but this giant card was to Ms. Bucler. Pretty close.

It was from Skittles. She brought it to me and told me I had to open it right away. No waiting for Valentine's Day was allowed. I said, "Don't you want to at least wait for your brother to get here?" (Her twin brother is in our class, too.) She replied with a firm "NO".

I opened it, made the proper exclamations, and then asked Skittles and her brother to take a picture with it. He said, "I had nothing to do with it...Skittles bought it with her own money, not me."

Sigh. Boys are so silly sometimes. =)

The second envelope was much smaller in comparison.
This part cracked us up.

It was Flat Stanley's friend Flat Cain!

When I told the darlings that Flat Cain was on his way in the mail one asked, "How is a cane going to fit in an envelope?". {Insert teachable moment about homophones.}

We got him outta there and helped him stretch out. Then, he got to take a break in my throne while we thought of what to feed him.
While I was taking my darlings to P.E., a mystery bag showed up in my room. I was so surprised!

Thank you, again, to my wonderful friends!

Friday was even more busy than Thursday because it was the 100th day of school!

We made this pinterest inspired poster to hang.
We counted our collections of 100.
I loved that we had a collection of Warm Fuzzies since we had just learned about them.

But, my favorite was 100 strawberries straight from Stella's family farm. Mmmm! We gave some to Flat Cain so he'd feel right at home. After we made him do 100 sit-ups and stand on one foot for 100 seconds, that is.

Whew! What a week!

Now we get a "normal" week before the Valentine's craziness comes.

Have a Super (Bowl) weekend!

  2. I guess we forgot to tell you that Flat Cain only likes strawberries when they are in jam. I hope he at least tried one to be polite. :)
